Job Description

  • You will be working as a Service Engineer and will be the part of Electrification Business Area for Distribution Solutions Division based in, Lagos, Nigeria.
  • In this role you will be reporting to Service Sales Manager and will be ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers.
  • Execute technical support and act as specialist in own area of expertise. In collaboration with the customer and ABB units / sales teams ensures customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for Service growth.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support by identifying technical problems and determining corrective actions in own area of expertise via remote or on-site service in any Service category. Focus on one ABB Approach in delivering Service.
  • Investigate customer needs through professional consulting. Provide technical consulting and specialist assistance on Service solutions to management and customers by giving relevant inputs on customer requirements and proposed service products/solution.
  • Determine effective Service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market or manufacture new Service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost effectively.
  • Coordinate and perform specialist Service projects in relevant areas internally and externally including all commercials. Prepare all required technical documents and reports for project contracts to be signed by the customer representative.
  • Report work done in a timely manner and share relevant technical supporting documents to the service execution teams and follows up when needed.
  • Participate in maintenance meetings and improvement activities to proactively provide suggestions for product and quality improvement and shares with ABB organization.
  • Provide technical specialist support and coordination for the Service team. Plan activities, coordinate the work of internal and external technicians and assign them specific tasks related to Service needs. Supervise project teams and contractors at work site and monitors performance.
  • Apply safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. Report unsafe practices and incidents.

Your Background

  • Should have qualification in Bachelor’s / Higher National Diploma – Electrical Engineering (Power Systems).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning or field service technician.
  • Must be able to perform primary and secondary injection on protection relays, simulate trip test with different setpoints and time settings and carry out contact resistance, vacuum integrity, H.V. test on circuit breakers and medium voltage Switchgears.
  • Ability to operate Omicron test set utilizing the test universe application software.
  • Overall knowledge of relay retrofit, relay Engineering, drawing modifications and Markups.
  • Should be in possession of driving license & passport.
  • IS Skills and HSE site experience knowledge will be added advantage.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English language is a must.

Job Description

  • You will be working as a Service Technician and will be the part of Electrification Business Area for Distribution Solutions Division based in, Lagos, Nigeria.
  • In this role you will be reporting to Service Sales Manager and will be execute Service work according to agreed work flows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. In close co-operation with customer and other ABB teams, take actions to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform Service tasks, identify technical problems, and make analysis through remote or on-site activity in any Service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end of life services, replacements, etc.).
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by executing Service work according to customer order and expectation. Create and maintain a good relationship with customers and understand their needs. Identify new sales opportunities and communicate them internally.
  • Coordinate, prepare and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service activities.
  • Prepare all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Report work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed.
  • Proactively identify potential equipment failures and requests proactive corrective actions. Troubleshoot equipment failure and make recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
  • Identify suggestions for product and quality improvement and communicate them further in the ABB organization. Provide recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service.

  • You will be working as an End User Sales and will be the part of Process Automation Business Area for Turbocharging Division based in, Lagos, Nigeria.
  • In this role you will be reporting to LBU Manager and will be responsible to Is member of End User Sales team (of the LD / the Service Station).
  • Achieves targets set by Head of End User Sales, based on LD strategy.
  • Delivers appropriate market coverage for new business end user influencing and service sales in his assigned territory / segment / customer group. Provides alignment with existing OEM and End User Agreements.
  • Accountable for owner decisions in favor of ABB in new business and service revenue and margin in his assigned segment.
  • Builds professional long-term relationships with his assigned customer base.

Your Responsibilities

  • Execute sales strategies, sales plans and sales support activities plans in his assigned territory / segment / customer group. Deliver on sales targets, margin and incentive targets, customer visit plan, customer communication and events plan). Attend trainings assigned.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Operations, Business Development, Market Communication and Technical Advisor as required. Drive sales of services and service products as well as end user decisions to specify ABB t/cs for their newbuilding projects to capture full market potential.
  • Build long term relationships with assigned customers at all levels, explore new business opportunities & generate new installed base, or market share by influencing through key decision processes.
  • Ensure adherence to Business Division rules and guidelines such as Circular Letters and Compliance.
  • Support market intelligence and business development projects as required to drive the growth of the business. Share information gained from customer visits as part of market intelligence input.
  • Support Business Development as required to achieve overall (LD /Service Station) goals and update customer database (ATURB).
  • Monitor & verify major customer complaints & claims, coordinate with other functions to develop solution. Support definition / implementation of corrective actions. Review, monitor & evaluate performance of assigned customer accounts.
  • Responsible for assigned sales budget, margin, and market share and Monitor CCRP.

Your Background

  • Should have qualification in Engineering (Bachelor’s Degree).
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in service sales with engine Diesel builder.
  • Especially in high-speed engine will be an advantage
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English language is a must.
