Job Brief

  • Oversee day to day activities of all cobblers ensure smooth running and coordination of operations and optimal productivity of the workshop

Reporting Relationships:

  • Functionally reports to: CEO/Managing Director & Head of operations
  • Administratively reports to: Human Resources Manager​
  • Supervises: All aspects of the workshop

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to cobblers
  • Oversee operations to ensure production efficiency, qualitative services and effective management of workshop
  • Manage overall day to day operations and supervision of unit focused primarily on optimal production.
  • Meet production targets and strive to lower the cost of production.
  • Implement workshop strategy
  • Preparation of daily and weekly reports.
  • Assist in updating the production plan and report on a timely basis
  • Assist in reviews of budgets and targets as required
  • Ensure continual cost effective and efficient use of all resources
  • Enlist the aid and support of others for the accomplishment common goals
  • Attract, recruit, lead and train craftsmen
  • Encourage and assist craftsmen
  • Take responsibility and accountability of all staff under your control
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for craftsmen in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain clear communication with all staff and management
  • Ensure operational plans and welfare are managed to meet targets.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards
  • Keep an up-to-date knowledge of all processes of the business.
  • Organize maintenance/repair of property, equipment.

Background Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum of an ND or HND
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Decision making skills.
