Legal & Compliance Associate

CrowdForce | Job Title: Legal & Compliance Associate | Location: Abuja | Work Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

• Drafting and reviewing contracts and other legal documents to ascertain the legality or otherwise of the document, protect the overall interest of the Company and ensure due compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Providing of legal support/advise on compliance related matter including but not limited to AML/CFT, Due Diligence and Data Protection.
• Monitoring compliance with your Manager and advise on compliance strategy. 
• Submission of Statutory Returns to regulatory bodies.
• Conducting legal research on various issues that relates to the Company’s business.
• Identifying, monitoring and managing legal risks affecting the Company’s businesses and advising on the impact of those risks and measures to mitigate them.
• Developing legal precedents in line with extant laws and regulations.
• Ensuring that legal and commercial risks are identified during negotiations and minimized through effective communication with your line Manager.
• Keep up to date with industry changes, laws, procedures and requirements relating to your job role.
• Carry out any other duties within your competence as requested.

Requirements
Applicant must have:

• At least three (3) years cumulative legal and compliance experience;
• The License to practice Law in Nigeria is required;
• The ability to communicate clearly and effectively;
• Experience in drafting legal documents, managing contracts, conducting research and writing articles;
• Legal experience working in fintech, corporate or financial services sector;
• Experience working with KYC/AML/Data Protection requirements in Nigeria;
• Experience working with regulators, especially CBN, NITDA and CAC; and
• Proficient with all Microsoft packages.

• Engaging the Mobile Forms agents with PayForce POS terminals
• Merchant Acquisition
• Follow up with daily transactions and optimization through daily calls and visitations to the agents/merchants.

Requirements 

• Must be a Graduate with at least an HND 
• Good Communication Skills
• Fluent in Hausa Language is a plus
• Must be a lady.

Goal

• The goal is to grow MobileForms Merchant Network to 500 agents in 2022.
