Summary

  • As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial procedures and systems, accounting, auditing, reporting, collection, accuracy, tax, budgeting, and working capital management for the Company.

Job Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Provide appropriate and accurate accounting.
  • Provide appropriate cost control, and other financial management information to meet the needs of management, the board, and other recognized stakeholders. 
  • Provide overall direction in Accounting, Funds Management, and other Accounting strategies for efficiency. 
  • Ensure adequate preparation and rendition of financial reports to the management, Auditors, Board, and regulatory bodies.
  • Undertake tax management and planning to ensure tax efficiency for the company. 
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and monthly budgetary control reports. 
  • Relate with Account and Tax Auditors for annual audits 
  • Prepare other ad-hoc reports as may be required to establish performance objectives and targets.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information/invoices.
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups.
  • Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls, rack transactions on balance sheets, and report any discrepancies.
  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Document financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information preparing balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and other reports.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or any related field.
  • 3 – 4 years of work experience in a similar role with sound knowledge of accounting processes.
  • Proficiency in using popular accounting software.
  • Ability to ensure accounting policies and procedures are followed.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ethical principles and ability to manage confidential and sensitive financial information.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
