International Breweries Plc was incorporated in December 1971 under the name International Breweries Limited. The Company commenced production of its flagship product Trophy Lager in December 1978 with an installed capacity of 200,000 hectoliters per annum.

In December 1982, the Company embarked on an expansion programme. The company was listed on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange in April 1995.In January 2012 SABMiller entered into a strategic alliance with the Castel group who were majority shareholders at the time.

In 2016, AB Inbev acquired SABMiller worldwide and by extension, their stakes in Africa. AB Inbev’s majority shareholding in Intafact Beverages Limited and Pabod Breweries Limited (companies with similar objectives) were merged into International Breweries Plc through a scheme of merger sanctioned by the Court and Regulatory authorities in order to provide for the optimization of efficiencies, leverage on economies of scale and shareholder value creation amongst others. This increased our production facilities to 4 breweries: In Osun State – Ilesa, Anambra State – Onitsha, Rivers State – Port Harcourt and recently Gateway brewery in Ogun State. 

The corporate headquarters of the Company is located in Lagos. Starting with just two brands, Trophy Lager and Beta malt, our brand offering now includes Budweiser, Hero Lager, Castle lite, Grandmalt, Eagler Lager and Eagle Stout.

Job Title: Machine Specialist – Energy & Fluids | Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers | Employment Type: Full-time | International Breweries Plc

Job Description

  • An opportunity exists for a highly skilled and result driven Machine Specialist – Energy & Fluids in Port Harcourt Plant who will be reporting to the Energy & Fluids Engineer.
  • The successful incumbent will maintain, repair and optimize plant and associated devices to ensure machine availability and product quality at minimum cost whilst maintaining standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized technical support and enhance machines, system and process capabilities.
  • Ensure good maintenance practices are applied during maintenance days
  • Assess proper functioning of equipment and request for repair or replacement in case of need.
  • Assess nature of repair on equipment depending on nature of defect as quick fix, replacement or major overhaul.
  • Coach artisans, apprentices and line team members in good maintenance practice.
  • Maintain, repair and optimize machines and associated devices.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of HND / B.Eng. or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • 2 – 4 years experience as an Electrical / Mechanical Artisan or Technician, preferably in a Utilities or process environment.
  • Previous experience as either a Process Artisan or Maintenance Artisan is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of modern maintenance practices and maintenance system.
  • Systemic and Analytical problem-solver.
  • Good knowledge of FCMG production processes and technologies.
  • Acts with integrity.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing way strategies and initiatives.
  • Influencing ability with regards to sound maintenance practices.

Job Title: Process Control Engineer | International Breweries Plc | Location: Ilesa, Osun | Job Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The primary role for this job is to manage, design, co-ordinate and implement the installations of new process control systems within brewing, energy & fluids and packaging. To ensure sustainable integrity and stability of the control and automation infrastructure and proactively recommend best practices within the control and automation arena.

The Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide insight and feedback on how processes are controlled to area Support plant process optimization in terms of quality, cost and speed improvements
  • To support regions with process optimization efforts in terms of improving quality, cost and speed of brewery processes managers and process engineers so that optimization proposals can be engineered
  • Support the change control process at the brewery to ensure that approved changes are made in accordance with approved procedures and vendor recommendations to the control and automation system as specified by area managers and process engineers
  • Follow-up on the effectiveness and sustainability of changes made
  • To ensure and maintain control and automation systems uptime by continuously assessing and mitigating risks, resolving breakdowns and instituting sustainable prevention measures
  • Conducting C&A risk assessments and recommending mitigation as per the site risk assessment process
  • Executing mitigation efforts in reduction of the risks identified
  • Attending to and resolving C&A breakdowns both during and after office hours either remotely or by coming to site
  • Conducting after action reviews to engineer, design and execute sustainable preventative measures
  • Support regions with C&A project implementation and ensure that they adhere to the C&A standards within the project
  • To support regions with control and automation project implementations by ensuring correct control and automation standards are followed and advising on technologies where applicable
  • Provide input to the business case by reviewing business cases and making recommendations to the regions
  • Assist with technology selection by providing regions with insight into new technologies and making recommendations around these
  • Provide regions with advice of technology implementation during technologies
  • Provide regions with divisional standards where they exist or assist regions in developing new standards in conjunction with the regions
  • Design and commissioning of projects
  • Support regions with problems experienced in the control and automation layer that has been escalated to BIS

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Degree in Electrical Engineering / Software
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with Control and Automation including:
  • Networks and servers
  • Microsoft server software
  • Manufacturing Execution systems (MES)
  • PLC systems
  • Manufacturing processes
  • S88 batch control standard
  • Field instrumentation and networks
  • SCADA systems
