Job Title: Structural Detailer

Role Summary
- The Structural Detailer will be responsible for designing and developing steel for a variety of purposes, including meeting with clients to identify their needs and preferences, conducting research and analysis to determine the ideal practices, utilizing software and programs, creating drafts and prototypes, and reviewing the materials’ specifications.
- S/he will also monitor all procedures, ensuring everything complies with state laws and regulations, and maintain an active communication line with team members for an efficient and smooth workflow.
Duties
- Run presses to fabricate aluminum, copper, and steel leads.
- Prepare technical drawings using appropriate standards.
- Create construction drawing sets and 3D building models using relevant software.
- Detail experience, including beams, horizontal and vertical bracing, columns, stairs, handrail, and miscellaneous steel.
- Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Develop layout and design piping drawings, pipe supports, provide checking and field assistance during construction.
- Perform required inspections of structural steel, welds, NDE, bolts, fire proofing, and reinforcing steel.
- Prepare daily inspection and relevant reports.
- Use multiple different sand grit papers and revise changes to drawings upon approval.
- Produce BOM’s for material ordering purposes.
- Fabricate steel, aluminum, and such metals and sand, polish and finish all tig welds.
- Create steel fabrication and construction drawings using relevant software.
- Create drawings of steel tanks and platforms from engineering calculations and detail all structural parts.
- Assist in calculating quantities and costs of structural steel, and convert hardcopy drawings to electronic drawings.
- Detail and draft the miscellaneous steel (stairs, handrails, guardrails, embeds) of a specific project.
- Detail experience includes beams, horizontal and vertical bracing, columns, stairs, handrail, and miscellaneous steel.
- Implement the use of NDT on deficiencies to ensure design characteristics of piping is upheld.
- Assist in selecting software and hardware for transition from paper and 2D cad plans to full 3D coordinate models.
- Prepare BIM models for collaborate coordination meetings with other trades.
- Provide accurate drawings and communicating project details to the team for all assigned scopes of work performed.
- Develop drawings, updates drawings layout of equipment, mechanical, electrical layout, architectural and structural.
- Use relevant software to update drawing and create models as well as provide material take-offs
- Perform all detailing in accordance with the most recent contract documents, including contract drawings, specifications and RFIs
- Review the Scope of Work, design drawings, plans and specifications.
Education & General Requirements
- BSc / HND in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Metallurgical or any other relevant Engineering field.
- 2-3 years experience with drafting (preferably steel).
- AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Role Summary
- The Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing and analyzing various structures, providing detailed calculations about the strength and stability of structures.
