Nigeria is the largest oil producer in the African continent. The country is land of some of the biggest offshore developmments in the recent past. In order to better serve our existing customers and gain new ones, Vallourec creates a new sales manager position dedicated to the line pipe segment.
The Nigerian line pipe sales manager is responsible to interact with the various local stakeholders on the line pipe business. He will meet frequently local actors such as local EPC’s, traders and operators in order to gather more information about the current activity level in the country. He will support the regional sales manager based in France to build the local sales strategy with a better understanding of the market. He will participate in preparing the commercial and technical offers to the customers. He will ensure that Vallourec plants are qualified for local operators (Shell, Exxon, Total…) and EPC’s for line pipe. He will push for the local qualification of Vallourec Oil and Gas Nigeria LTD for a category A NCEC certificate. For complex orders, he will support the executive team based in France: he will ensure a close follow-up of the on-going orders and will be the local support for the communication with local subcontractors, notably coating plants.
A first sales and business development experience (3-5 years) in Oil and Gas business is required, as well as good communication skills and intercultural adaptability and sensitivity. Ability to prioritize is key, as well as reporting and analytic skills. A good mastery of English language is a must.
