The Communications Specialist will oversee all communications involving the organization including the development and implementation of a communications strategy and a broad and diverse range of business and marketing communications.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hire and train communications staff.
  • Organize and oversee the schedule and work of communications supervisors.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with executive leadership and board of directors to develop the corporate mission statement.
  • Develops and implements a communications strategy for the corporation that builds and maintains a positive corporate brand.
  • Oversees corporate communications and branding in various online and print platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry magazines.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of the corporate website including methods to deliver message, ease of navigation, and clarity of information; ensures that all content is current and relevant.
  • Provides consistent and timely information to employees through various communications programs.
  • Acts as corporate spokesperson and responds to members of the media promptly; composes and distributes press releases as needed.
  • Develops and maintains positive professional relationships with various members of the media.
  • Assists executive leadership in developing presentations, speeches, and other important corporate messages.
  • Provides suggestions concerning graphics, clarity, distribution, and press releases to Finance and Accounting departments for preparation of the corporation’s annual report.
  • Develops, implements, and adheres to communications budget.
  • Develops, composes, distributes, and implements polices to enhance the efficiency of the communications department and to further develop the building and maintaining of a positive corporate brand.

Requirements

To be Eligible for this role, the candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • Years of experience in public relations, including supervisory and comprehensive marketing role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in copy writing and editing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Critical attention to detail.
  • Superior ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for corporate and external publications.
  • Excellent managerial and organizational abilities.

Junior Accountant

A Facility Management/ Industrial and Domestic Cleaning company is looking to hire the serivices of a Junior Accountant. The accountant  is responsible for basic bookkeeping and accounting tasks. The duties include reconciling bank records, drafting financial documents and invoicing customers or collecting payments.
The tasks to be performed are:

  1. Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc.
  2. Preparing financial reports.
  3. Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies
  4. Preparing statutory accounts.
  5. Ensuring payments, amounts and records are correct.
  6. Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.
  7. Recording and filing cash transactions.
  8. Controlling credit and chasing debt.
  9. Invoice processing and filing.
  10. Processing expense requests for the accountant to approve.
  11. Bank reconciliation.

Requirements

Risk & Compliance Officer

We are looking for an experienced Risk & Compliance Officer for a newly set-up Asset Management company. The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensuring that all investments are within the risk tolerance set for the specific portfolios (or  within the guidelines of the Trust Deed for registered Collective Investment Funds)
  • Monitoring client deposits for compliance with anti-money laundering rules 
  • Sending out periodic AML/CFT reports and preparing periodic SEC returns •
  • Ensuring zero regulatory infractions and fines 
  • Reviewing internal processes to match changes in rules and regulations
  • Overseeing compliance with company’s internal processes and policies
  • Preparing monthly Risk Management & Compliance report 
  • Liaising with regulators SEC/NSE/NFIU/EFCC 
  • Reviewing of bank reconciliation statements & internal control reports 

Requirements

  • Minimum BA/BSc (2nd Class Upper) or HND (Upper Credit) 
  • An MBA in a Finance related field and/or professional qualification is an advantage 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in risk and compliance in an investment  management company or a bank 
  • SEC sponsored individual status is required

Reporting to the board, the CEO will be primarily responsible for the overall strategic and operational performance of the new venture and the achievements of the its Growth and Profitability agenda.
