Job Description
- Provide strategic supports to the CFO in achievement of the Corporation’s objectives
- Ownership of the preparation of the consolidated monthly management accounts
- Directs & oversees the preparation & distribution of all periodic statutory financial statements for external use
- Manages theCorporation’s external auditors in carrying out statutory audit of the Group. Responding to Auditors queries promptly and accurately to ensure successful completion of audit within the agreed timelines
- Prepare quarterly GMD Board report.
- Analyse and deliver quarterly Finance board update report/papers
- Ensure prompt rendition of financial performance returns to Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC), ensuring documentation complies with regulations, professional standards
- Analyse, research, and conclude on new & proposed accounting standards, reporting & disclosure standards, prepares memorandum regarding theCorporation Plc’s position and impact on the Company
- Plays a critical role in supporting the implementation of various financial information systems
- Reviews & Manages SLAs
- Responsible for strategic focus on Group tax governance, oversight, compliance monitoring, tax planning & reporting
- Responsible for designing the Group Tax Operating Model which should effectively result in cost savings for the Group in the short, medium, and long-term
- Simplified and efficient compliance monitoring, reporting and transparency across the Group.
- Co-ordinate the expense budgeting process across the Holding Company. Co-ordinate the Control Tower activities for expenses outside a set limit across the Corporation, managing senior stakeholders effectively
- Perform other duties as assigned by CFO

- Penalties from regulators & tax authorities for non-compliance with deadlines and reporting requirements

- Service rating by Service & Innovation Group
Requirements
- A good First Degree in any discipline plus Professional Accounting Certification; ICAN, ACCA or CITN. Relevant Masters’ degree will be an advantage
- 10-12 years in Financial Reporting & Business Performance
- Ability to combine strategic and analytical perspectives with a pragmatic approach. Able to focus on day-to-day performance whilst simultaneously working towards longer term goals
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the key metrics for companies across the various verticals we operate in
- Strong commercial acumen, willing and able to challenge accepted practices and processes
- Strong interpersonal & influencing skills for managing senior level relationships and difficult performance management conversations
- Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment, and be able to meet tight deadlines
- Has superb written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to draft engaging and impactful messages for internal and external audiences
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other local regulations and laws
- Understanding of treasury products
- Knowledge of tax laws
- Knowledge of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) circulars and Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria’s guidelines
